The ROBERT C. MITCHELL SCHOLARSHIP - Mr. Mitchell graduated from THS/Colestock in 1935. He designated a portion of his estate to the Titusville Alumni Association for scholarships. He passed away on May 18, 2008, with the scholarship established in July 2008. Qualifications for this scholarship are: THS graduating senior, Class Rank, GPA, ACT, SAT, High School Activities, Community Interests, financial Needs with FAFSA Statement attached to the application and two Essay questions: 1) How do you see your degree being used in ten years? 2) If your application based on furthering an exceptional talent or skill through formal education? If yes, present the details on an attached sheet of paper. This scholarship is renewable for up to four years.

National Higher Education Day is observed to create awareness on the significance of college degree. The day reinforces undergraduate students to pursue higher education in order to secure their financial future. I work with a lot of schools that appear in the US News regional rankings - so definitely check out these lists. Often a school is in this list just because they are one of the smaller schools in their state - especially for states like Virginia that have a large number of high quality public institutions.
